FedEx Ground Entrepreneurs of the Year Recognized for “Outstanding Contract Transportation Services”

Running a successful FedEx route business is no small achievement. Contractors must adapt to a continually evolving industry and be ready to pivot when new challenges arise. In addition, they are responsible for the safety of their drivers, the satisfaction of their customers, and the growth of their business and the surrounding community.

In April, FedEx Ground selected six route businesses to receive their Entrepreneur of the Year distinction, which the company says “recognizes businesses for valuing safety above all, delivering excellent customer service, building dedicated and engaged teams, and responsibly growing their companies.” The following recipients were chosen from nearly 6,000 service providers across the United States and Canada.

  • SB Transportation Service, Inc. (Orlando, FL) Owner: Diana Rodriguez
  • JSJ Trucking, Inc. (Tupelo, MS) Owner: John Smith, Jr.
  • Hutch Motors, Inc. (Pasco, WA) Owner: Eric Hutchcraft
  • Mercury Logistics, Inc. (Greenwood, IN) Owner: Laura Brown
  • Fulsom Logistics, Inc. (Fresno, CA) Owner: Troy Fulsom
  • EPR Transport, Inc. (Pittsburgh, PA) Owner: Erin Roach

According to FedEx, winners are selected from the leading regional qualifiers for the previous two fiscal years. You can read more about the individual winners here.

Pro tip: Potential buyers are more attracted to a successful business.

If you are a FedEx contractor and you are considering selling your routes, keep in mind that potential buyers are more likely to be attracted to a well-run business with a history of success and customer satisfaction. From start to finish, the FedEx sales process takes about three to six months to complete, provided you have all of your financial paperwork in order, and it is best to get started well before peak season begins.
